Amazon vs. authors (again):

Ghostwriting scammers have apparently tried to claim they were responsible for quite a few authors’ books:

At least two different sites are involved in this scam (creativebookwriters.com and thebookwritingcorp.com). They’re featuring covers from Lee Goldberg, Anne Bishop, Oxford dictionaries, and J. D. Robb on their pages, implying that their ghostwriters were responsible for those works. Someone noted that the site’s photos of the “ghostwriters” available for hire are actually stock images, and the language used in their promotional copy reads like (poorly) translated English.

This could get very interesting to watch, especially once the authors’ lawyers get involved…

My take: Less for a child’s card? What…are they smaller?

The decrease in owner-occupied housing is driving up rates for everyone:

Not sure what measures could satisfy the needs for affordable housing and enforce minimum occupancy regulations in areas where space is limited and investors dominate the market.

Munchausen by proxy is my absolute least favorite thing to see. Always take forever to convince people that it is real, usually too late. The offender is usually someone with a modicum of familiarity with medicine, and frequently befriends the docs and nurses caring for their child, to the point that even when confronted with incontrovertible evidence (in one case we had, video evidence of the mother suffocating her child) refuse to believe that this could possibly be real. Evil is very real.

And the victims (young or old) are always the most defenseless ones… :rage:

Only an op-ed piece that’s an excerpt from her book, but it’s Rachel’s reckoning with being scammed by Anna Delvey.

Crypto related- but also sprawling grifting in many areas. Especially denying that the struggling single mom who raised him didn’t exist.

Didn’t attend MIT, wasn’t in CIA, PPP loans.

Yep. I’m thinking a Mar-a-Lago garage sale will appear sometime soon.

“ On Friday, it was reported that the Trump scam machine, besides being total hooey, has such little regard for the millions of MAGA suckers it cons that it has been fundraising off of promises of meet-and-greets—and then just blowing them off. That’s some cold-blooded hubris.”
