@awfulhorrid the 3d6 dice reads: 11 for Attack with Quarterstaff skill of 16 (4,4,3)
Yup, although you’ve now used your Evaluate to attack. But you had it when the feint happened, so any feint penalty to your defence will be reduced by one.
Parrying with no retreat.
@discbot roll 3d6 vs parry-13
@Wanderfound the 3d6 dice reads: 13 vs parry-13 (6,3,4)
Nearly got me…
I step forwards and follow the feint with swung partial Deceptive Attack (-2 skill / -1 defence) to the torso, with an effective skill of 14.
First we need to do a quick contest for the feint; thanks to my Evaluate, I’m rolling vs 17 while you’re rolling vs 16 (but the effect is reduced by one if I win due to your Evaluate).
@discbot roll 3d6 vs 17 for the feint quick contest
@discbot roll 3d6 vs 14 to hit
@Wanderfound the 3d6 dice reads: 11 vs 17 for the feint quick contest (3,4,4)
@Wanderfound the 3d6 dice reads: 10 vs 14 to hit (3,2,5)
@discbot roll 3d6 for Quick Contest with Quarterstaff skill of 16
@awfulhorrid the 3d6 dice reads: 12 for Quick Contest with Quarterstaff skill of 16 (2,6,4)
(And an excellent “tip-of-the-staff” parry it was, too!)
Okay; on the feint, I succeeded by 6 while you made it by 4, giving a -2 to parry, reduced to -1 by your evaluate. Plus you’ve got another -1 for the deceptive attack, +1 for defensive grip, and +1 if you choose to retreat.
Ah good, you gave me the numbers before I did the calculations!
I’m taking a retreating parry. Parry 13, total adjustments of (-1 -1 +1 +1) = 0.
@discbot roll 3d6 for Parry vs. 13
@awfulhorrid the 3d6 dice reads: 13 for Parry vs. 13 (4,6,3)
Nice tip-parry yourself.
Thank you - somewhat amused with the rolls we both got for parry.
OK, if I’m following our moves correctly, you’re 3 hexes away. I’m against the impassable object with my back to it.
Assuming this is correct, I’m taking a step forward and attacking: Swing for the right arm (-2)
@discbot roll 3d6 for Attack vs. 14
@awfulhorrid the 3d6 dice reads: 11 for Attack vs. 14 (6,1,4)
@Wanderfound the 3d6 dice reads: 14 vs parry-14 (13 +1 for retreat) (3,5,6)
I’m sensing a theme…
So, step forwards and swing for the torso with a full Deceptive Attack (-4/-2).
@discbot roll 3d6 vs Staff-12 (16 minus 4 for the Deceptive Attack)
@Wanderfound the 3d6 dice reads: 13 vs Staff-12 (16 minus 4 for the Deceptive Attack) (6,1,6)
D’oh.
Your turn.
This does happen when we each have great defenses!
OK … swing for right hand (-4) with standard attack.
@discbot roll 3d6 for Attack vs 12
