When I was 7 years old, I got to witness the Voyager 2 launch. That was the same summer vacation where I went to Disneyworld within a week or two of Cory Doctorow’s now famous visit.
That’s amazing!
LOLing at those 70’s clean room suits that allowed arm hairs to fall into the spacecraft.
What are the chances there are still some of those dna strands in the grooves?
Maybe for the next one we can put a few ambered insects with bellyfuls of dinosaur blood, Portsmouth Symphonia recordings and Far Side/Adventure Time cartoons to keep the aliens guessing.
Something smilar happens in the movie Starman, where aliens find the record, follow it back to Earth, make friends with the first person they find, and resurrect the body of her dead husband, using DNA from a lock of hair.
