A most excellently written critique, there. I might even have agreed with your take on the Higgins issue, if they hadn’t hired an actress named Perdita. That may be the most British name since Prunella Scales. (Also, wasn’t it the bitch in 101 Dalmations?)

Very very very good review. I haven’t seen the new show yet either, but don’t expect much of it. The trailer all looks too posh, too perfect, like a celebrity instagram feed. There was a profound message in Magnum’s reflective monologues about life in paradise. I haven’t made it to Hawaii yet, but when I do, I will not be able to stop thinking about every single episode of Magnum PI (the original).
