My father Bob claimed to be the model of the original Big Boy (checkered) but he told false stories and was quiet about truths so I have my doubt.
I could put a Big Boy (checkered) figure in my yard – a shop down in the county seat has one, along with aluminum dinosaurs and the like. It would be an homage to Dad. Probably need a black neck ribbon.

We had a Bob’s Big Boy on the south end of downtown in Wichita, and we kids loved clambering around the base of the Big Boy statue.
