Never watched Hell’s Kitchen. Don’t buy that particular schtick. However, I have to say that the UK version of Kitchen Nightmares is way better on many levels. It feels more quaint and personal and Ramsay’s persona is much more of the “tough love” variety. The US version of Kitchen Nightmares seems to be geared more towards fans of Hell’s Kitchen. As others have stated above, the different shows give much different impressions of the man and chef. In the UK Kitchen Nightmares, he seems to care genuinely and when he flys off the handle it’s usually because someone is acting in a way that is destructive of the goal to provide great food and restaurant service.
Anyway, my 2 cents.
