Here's the simplest way to ruin a Planned Parenthood protest, and all it takes is a sign

I once marched at the head of a “pro-life” parade. (the name is a lie) My friends and I were carrying a banner that read, “Idiots Next Half Mile.”

They don’t really give a shit about abortion, they just want women to suffer.

I love to see people displaying the courage of their convictions even in the face of extreme adversity. [/s]

As I pointed out, it wasn’t close to the take I was making. And you should know better than taking it out of context.

IIRC, they blamed HRC for her husband’s infidelities.

Having had to run gauntlets of protestors before and after an abortion, and then again when I had check ups, THANK YOU to this man, and everyone else who’s figured out ways to chase off those bastards!

Sorry then, my family has had enough experience with both infertility and adoption that “people who want kids should birth their own” hit the wrong way.

Nah. If you want a kid, don’t make a whole new human on a planet that really doesn’t need them (at least not more planet-killing first-worlders), when there are tons of kids already around that need support. Raising a kid is one of the most selfless and responsible things a person can do, but conceiving a kid is one of the most selfish and irresponsible.

Obviously, though, apart from any of that, forcing someone to go through with an unwanted pregnancy is perverse and evil for about a dozen reasons.

Was there a height limit?

I was proud of my local authority when they jumped through all the legal hoops necessary to effect this:

Still get people with signs just outside the exclusion zone, but only on one approach road and sufficiently distanced that they must struggle to connect anyone going past with the clinic. From what I’ve seen cycling past, their hearts aren’t really in it, very low energy and reduced numbers.

It is not. They care about controlling women. they want men to be able to do whatever they want.

How about other people stop making reproductive decisions for other people. :woman_shrugging:

It’s not sex they hate- it’s women. 80% of all religion is about controlling, hating, and fearing women.

Maybe we’re misunderstanding each other. I don’t think anyone here (myself included) is in favor of forced birth, rather that adoption is a valid route for those that want it.

I don’t have enough background on the biological parents of the now-adult adoptees I know, so I can’t comment on them. But the children my cousin adopted came from a very abusive situation, one of the siblings may have permanent physical or mental disabilities. If they were taken away from their birth mother against her wishes so be it.

All the Judeo-based ones, anyway.

Wicca is still ‘okay’ in my book…

I don’t think “people who choose to procreate are evil selfish bastards” is a great take either.

How about we all just stop trying to pass moral judgment on other people’s reproductive choices altogether. If you support reproductive freedom then you gotta get ALL the way out of other people’s uteruses, man.

IANAL . . . what if he had replied “yes, I am referring to you?” First Amendment protection, right? “These people are idiots?” Also, protected.

Second @Melizmatic on this.

BB authors, can you please include a direct link in articles containing TikTok videos?

The sign that comes up on that sight is rather interesting. They seem to think Nazis, fascism, and communism ended (and that war was somehow responsible for that.) They also seem to be taking the position that we had some war about slavery. Isn’t it a talking point of the right, of which they seem extraordinarily proud of being a part, that the American Civil War wasn’t about slavery? Weird.

This planet doesn’t need all sorts of people.
