Here's the simplest way to ruin a Planned Parenthood protest, and all it takes is a sign

I work next door to a PP. Every morning, there are protesters. Some days, I fuck with them, other days, I call a tow truck because they park illegally in our parking lot.

I think they’ve proven, time and time again, that it’s a double standard based on patriarchy. The conservative church “fathers” agreed on/gravitated to a set of hot-button issues that wouldn’t impact them as cis-het dudes (anti-gay, anti-women’s rights, etc.). They may talk about how men should support the women they impregnate, but there’s no consequences for the men that violate that. This is a culture where the girl/woman who gets pregnant and is unmarried gets shunned - the man who everyone knows is the father doesn’t. Worse, they’ll punish girls for getting molested while at the same time embracing the molester.

They don’t fear all sexuality - they fear any sexuality that isn’t centered around (benefiting) cis-het white dudes. They will talk about sexuality (usually, but not always, in vague terms) that advances that way of thinking. The apparent fear of sexuality is that they don’t want to acknowledge anything that could distract from or imply alternatives to that, so there’s no honest, fact-based discussions allowed. (Women might start having some demands of their own, if that happened…)

After all, women should keep their legs closed, and it’s also our fault if men rape us.

And more fundamentally, women are ultimately at fault just for being women. (The old Abrahamic notions about original sin, women as “temptresses” who cause men to sin in the first place, etc.) Women become responsible not just for what men do, but what they think and feel as well.

It’s patriarchy all the way down…

I looked around that site, and I’m not sure what kind of “bite” you are looking for, I find the signs on that page offensively stupid, and it appears to me the main theme is misrepresenting what the protesters actually are protesting for. They’re not pointing out consequences or inconsistencies (obviously wars did not solve fascism, communism or even slavery, they’re designed to offend. That is just what “these people are losers” is doing, but in a much simpler and more obvious way. Even conservative protesters apparently understood that message right away. If the aim is to disperse the protest, that seems to be a pretty effective strategy. A more elaborate message might not have the same effect.

I’m not so sure that there is/was much thinking going on there. They were stringing together some talking points to “own the libs”, that’s all. Don’t expect logic, coherence, or even the ability to remember what they said a couple of paragraphs above on their own website.

Hold up signs saying something like “Stop abortions - sterilise men and ban viagra”
I’d be happy to do it if such protests were happening anywhere around here in my part of the U.K.
