Citizens United. That’s the ruling that enabled SuperPACs. I’ve often said here on BB that if America collapses, historians will look back on it and see Citizens United as the beginning of the end. It poured gasoline on embers of corruption that had been long simmering in US government.

At least we can be glad that research very consistently shows that spending more money has very little impact on general elections, especially presidential elections.
