Well, as thin on the ground as they might be, they do seem to exist. I’d suspect that Oakland and Atlanta have very different political make-up overall, given their different locations and histories. Atlanta does have a long history of a black elite, going back to the late 19th century, and after the (seemingly) end of segregation (and how smooth it was supposed to have happened here in town - which is another story), it’s not too surprising that there is a black population here in town that does indeed agree with some of the key republican talking points about economic liberty and prosperity. There is a strong strain pro-capitalist, individualist thought that does have a long history in black political discourse, and that can be considered conservative in orientation, at least as the republicans tend to define themselves now… My point is over the notion that the two sides politically have very definitions of the things we’re talking about, and that’s largely a political divide, not necessarily a race-based one.

And HOW DID WE EVEN GET HERE AND HOW HAS THE LUCKDRAGON NOT COME TO EAT US YET?
