I pray that their egos don’t fuck your entire country for years to come.

Given his positions, Elder “getting nothing done” would be the absolute best outcome possible.

And in an alternate reality where Larry Elder was a liberal walking through a homeless village, the article on BB would have a very different headline.

Well, yes, actually. Because it would be a different situation.

If the “liberal” was advocating policies that harmed homeless people while using them as props - sure.

Their egos is how Clinton vs Trump happened. Better switch to past tense. :expressionless:

Which unfortunately describes most politicians the US mainstream media portrays as “liberal”.

My only regret is that there weren’t more eggs and that the eggs didn’t hit their mark. Would have been hilarious.

The idea that this ridiculous Token Negro came as close as he did to becoming California governor is truly frightening.

“Homeless people egg California self-hating Black RepugliKKKlan recall candidate rather than be used as a prop”

There, fixed that headline.

One of the glaring problems highlighted by this situation is how some homeless folks who could vote cannot, simply for lack of address or utilities they can tie to an address. We need to begin to link driver’s licenses and voter registration to a person and the district where they reside, not an address on a utility bill.

Fucken’ A, right on.

It makes no sense. The “strategy” behind it seems to be “don’t even consider an alternative, or you might be tempted to vote yes instead of no” or some kind of perverse solidarity. I suspect it might actually be more of “Newsome is up for actual reelection next year and if we acknowledge that there might be alternative(s), then voters will start paying attention to those candidates instead of maintaining the momentum behind Newsom that he needs to win.” The perceptual hubris of it in the immediate term isn’t horribly appealing to anyone who gives it some thought.

Do you honestly believe that Larry Elder gives a shit about the well-being of those people or sees them as anything other than a nuisance for wealthier classes of Californians?

Larry Elder has been a vocal advocate for ending what little government assistance these people are currently able to get to survive. Why on earth would anyone expect him to be greeted there with anything BUT hostility?
