This makes me happy. I recently met an 80 lb pitbull/boxer mix, and she is by far one of the sweetest and most well-behaved dogs I’ve ever met. My own dog’s anxiety goes way down when she is around, too.
Also, seconded on size discrimination. While I get that destructive large dogs can do more damage than destructive small dogs in some ways, in practice they are much less likely to do so. Those traits have usually been bred out more thoroughly in the breed’s past, and the owners train them better (aka take their responsibilities to do so more seriously). Last month I was at the park and ran into a group of owners with about 10 English mastiffs, all perfectly behaved and off leash.
