House poised to pass bill to decriminalize marijuana at the federal level

One of the first steps to eventually signing legislation is voting on legislation. I’m happy that the Dems are trying to move the Overton Window instead of just regretfully submitting to conservatives shifting the possible over to their side.

Yeah, but see, they should only pass bills that they KNOW McConnell will take up, rather than what their constituents want them to pass… There job isn’t representing their constituents, it’s doing whatever McConnell tells them to do… duh! /s

God I hate that man.

Clearly there’s no moral value in not continuing to criminalize behavior supported by a large majority of the electorate- and no political value in having your opposition be seen so publicly to obstruct what they support.

Best not let the rubes think their votes actually matter. /s

Well, I will definitely want something tasty after imbibing some universally legal marijuana.

If we gain control of the senate, then we’ll have to repass this legislation. It becomes invalid once this congress leaves, which is very very soon. It won’t get calendared in the senate.

This is just a message to Joe Biden about what kind of house he’ll be working with.

If that’s the house, I need to become a representative.

So I can light up with Biden legally with Tommy Chong there😂

I meant a message from the house to Biden, not something that I was saying to Biden.

Hell no it’s not! Bogarting is a thing!

True socialist weed would be part of your prescription plan, in sufficient amounts.

I assume you’re being sarcastic.

The drug trade is capitalism in its rawest form. No rules, no mercy. cut throat tactics and high profits to the people on top.

Yes. Or rather, following the GOP lead of defining anything they don’t want (and most of the country does) as socialism.

Ah, that explains it. The GOP are against legalizing because that would mean more regulations! And those damn Dems would probably even want to TAX it. /s
