I’ve heard wiki posts were a think and I thought of a suitable application, but I can’t seem to find the option. Am I confused on this? There’s no checkbox or anything in the category drop-down. Are they not a thing?

yep, after creating your post, click the … like you are going to bookmark or flag it – click the wrench icon and select make a wiki.
You might notice that it is Bass Ackwards…
