Anyway, the Simpsons dub version is quite strong, the cast of actors are the same since the show began(which is quite unusual in Hungary-for financial reasons mostly), and most of my friends who speak english prefer the hungarian version, because it’s been translated so well…
Family guy also has a very fine dubbing cast.(I know its unusual, but you know, I grew up listening to dubbed version of everything, up to the point when I was able to get hold of original versions of stuff.-like everyone else in the eastern bloc-en bloc: )
I still think the best dubbing job I’ve ever seen was Hogan’s Heroes … in German. They matched the original voices and intonations, and they got syllable-for-syllable matching surprisingly close. There’s something to that stereotype of meticulous German precision, at least in this area.
