I don't know where to put this

We’re almost four years into the Covid pandemic. About two weeks ago, I arrived home after working away for three weeks or so. About 13 days ago, I started getting sick. I thought the chest infection I’d had about six weeks ago had returned, but this was different. A week ago, I did a RAT and was Covid-positive. The first and only time I’ve had Covid in almost four years of the pandemic. Six days ago I had a telehealth appointment with my GP (the first available timeslot) and was prescribed antivirals. Later that afternoon, the tablets were delivered free of charge (no delivery fee, just the $30 supply cost) to my door by an independent local pharmacy as I’d been isolating after testing positive. I don’t mean this in a gloating or nasty way, but please look at the ‘actual cost’ in the bottom right hand corner of the packet. As much as I’m very angry at Australians for rejecting the Voice referendum, this (“socialised medicine”) is something we’ve got right.

Wowza.
I think it also fits in the continuing coronavirus thread.

Thank you. I may cross-post later.

Hope it works and you feel better soon.

That is an amazing price break.

I got what we call Paxlovid the one time I had Covid. I don’t remember what my “co-pay” was, but not much. I wonder if it’s the same drug.

Anyway, although it put a horrible taste in my mouth while taking it, it did work! (With some relatively mild “rebound” a bit later.)

Thanks. Finished the tablets yesterday and am much better compared to this time last week when I was struggling to get through an early morning work shift (work from home/wherever I am)… because I unknowingly had Covid!

The other name for the antiviral I was taking is Lagevrio and it’s not made by Pfizer (which makes Paxlovid) so they’re different drugs.

And I’m lucky that I was able to get Lagevrio because not everyone who wants it can get it as it’s restricted to people with certain pre-existing conditions and at risk of “severe Covid”, hospitalisation and death. Does that cover everything? Still a bit brain fogged.

Capsules are traditionally put in the mouth, though I try to stay open minded.

That’s just a supposition.

(It’s not just your mind that needs to be open.)
