My favorite same-thing-across-many-movies supercut is, by far, Christian Marclay’s The Clock:

How did they possibly miss this one? (33s)

"Hold on!"

Not for me. After watching the first one for awhile, it got me wondering why people so often say that, instead of just “no.”

Let’s split up.

I watched a wonderful Michael Caine Acting Master Class. He said, when you are asked a question on screen, you should look down for a moment… and then deliver your line. This makes your character look more inteligent, and also gets you more screen time. I guess the second part is why actors don’t like to just say, “No.”

Interesting. There are two meanings to both. For “don’t say anything,” it’s don’t tell anyone else the information I just told you and don’t say anything about the painful/humiliating thing I just experienced.

The two meanings to “I don’t think so” are I don’t believe that is true and that is not happening.
