Shakedown, breakdown, takedown
Everybody wants into the crowded line
Breakdown, takedown, you’re busted.
You don’t have a clue.
If you did you’d find yourselves doing the same thing too!
Breaking the law, breaking the law…
I fought the law and the law won.
I shot the sheriff.
(but I swear it was in self-defence)
Wanted, dead or alive.
And I walk these streets, a loaded six string on my back.
I play for keeps, 'cause I might not make it back.
#meta
You should be sorry for that one.
Meta:
This thread for the most part looks less like a conversation and more like the musical equivalent of “Associate Associate”
That being said:
(I’ll stop being disruptive now. carry on.)
meta Yup, I agree. That’s why I was trying at first to keep my responses down to one line. (It’s hard to sound conversational, once you start to rhyme.)
. #meta I’ve thought about that a few times, but then I remind myself that a “conversation” can take a lot of different forms.
I think it’d be difficult to make it more conversation-like without an additional rule, like only using one complete or partial sentence from the song quote. Would be rather limiting, though.
#meta: It is hard. I personally find the challenge of working within constraints to be rewarding. i.e. “How do you make a creative statement with the rules imposed?”
I’ve had a chat or two with @OtherMichael about this, and he likes things to evolve in a more free form fashion, though I must commend him for almost being a strict task master in the questions thread.
(Don’t get into it with him about parenthetical statements.)
I know what this is, this is what we talk about.
All you do to me is talk talk.
Let’s talk about sex, for now.
you won’t stop talking,
Why don’t you give it a rest?
You got more rabbit than sainsburys
Why must we argue loudly, when peace is our one salvation?
This is what it sounds like when doves cry?
