What I’m looking out for is the beginning of a coordinated attempt to cast doubt preemptively on the validity of the next election.
I do realize this kind of thing is already happening, and has been happening since the last election; I’m talking about something more unified, organized, and insistent.
A drumbeat to rally around.

It’s not an either/or, though. That campaign will be part of any acts of violence deployed on behalf of the big lie. Much like it was on Jan. 6th. There had been weeks of propaganda pumped out on far right media networks prior to Jan. 6th, which is why people showed up to protest the vote count in Congress, and how that was turned into violent action.

“Can”? “Only”?
I know this is a turn of phrase.
But.
You can work the problem.
Real work.
You can help get people to the polls on election day.
You can motivate family and friends to vote, including those who have stopped voting, for whatever reasons.
You can phonebank, blockwalk, help set up or break down at fundraisers for your local down-ballot candidates.
Maybe you are doing all this already.
I’d just like to amplify what @Melizmatic is clearly stating.
Because it’s gonna take all of us.
Blame only gets one so far. And it ain’t all that far.
How’s this going to get us to the goal of a Democratic sweep in November?
There’s real work to be done.
Constructive work.
Every day.
And I’d argue that the first real choice when one wakes up every day is: how civil (as in “polite,” but also as in “ordinary citizen”) and rational we can be in our interactions with voters, especially the swing voters, who have chosen to stay human?
This “America will erupt in violence” you speak of has happened, has been happening, has been baked into The American Experiment (WTFTM, but maybe this) for around 500 years [here in North America], give or take.
Anyone who says otherwise just is not paying attention, deliberately and perversely… or not.

Whether Trump wins or loses, I think we will be in the prequel to the new film “Civil War”. If you think MAGA people will be crazy if he loses - imagine how free they’ll feel to start some shit if he wins!
I’ve already had my life threatened by a rural neighbor here in Mississippi for being a “faggot liberal” so I’ve seen that naked hatred up close and had the spittle on my face. If the dude comes up my driveway, well…
This is the last of the calm before the storm in a lot of the country. I truly believe it. I hope I’m wrong. I’d love people to tell me this time next year I was so wrong.

That’s more of an appearance thing than a reality thing. They’ve used this time to create some really targeted damage campaigns. My local youth LGBT center is getting so many Proud Boy issues that they are dropping way more on security than rent. They’ve made massive inroads into school and library systems and are ascendant in way too many places. This is a pattern we’ve seen since the fash heavily leaned into the leaderless resistance strategy. There’s a big public flare for recruitment followed by a quiet period where “lone wolves” do the action.
How much muscle mass does it take to press the accelerator? How much lung capacity to pull a trigger? James Fields was an out of shape asshole who wouldn’t have lasted seconds in a streetfight, he had no problem killing Heather Heyer. Kyle Rittenhouse was a child who probably would have struggled to run a mile, but Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber are still dead. Anthony Gedron was a child playing dress up, and Celestine Chaney, Roberta A. Drury, Andre Mackniel, Katherine Massey, Margus D. Morrison, Heyward Patterson, Geraldine Talley, Ruth Whitfield, Aaron Salter Jr and Pearl Young are all dead. Please put aside the belief that these people aren’t a threat due to not fitting some action movie image. What matters is their hate and willingness to do violence.

I’m not going to be surprised if a few nuts want to get violent.
The thing is: where are they going to vent their maga frustrations? Jan 6th there was the PLACE - the Capitol - where donnie called them to congregate.
will they try this at other state capitols? Which ones?
I’m going to assume the FBI aren’t stupid and are listening/reading messages from suspects.
AmI worried? Well, right now I’m more concerned about not enough people coming out to vote for Biden. No one must get complacent and stay home. Not one single person. The lesson of 2016 MUST be burned in every person’s memory.
WE can’t give up. or the entire world is doomed. Seriously.
And even after donnie goes to jail, the disgruntled white supremacists are still going to be upset. We have a great deal of work to do and we can not get lazy.

Given the choice, I’d rather he lose and people are violent than he wins and people are violent because at least the enablers of this violence won’t be the ones in power.

Yes, they’re going to be violent either way, but if he loses and they’re violent, then they can be arrested and charged with crimes, and we can maybe start to put this shit behind us, his trials can go on, and we can get to a point of closure with this time in our history.
