One of my foremost name peeves has been those names where people can’t seem to agree where the syllabic breaks are. This tends to result in annoying abbreviations! Such as Mike-el versus Mi-cha-el, Thom-as versus Tho-mas, Chris-to-pher versus Christ-o-pher, etc. It drives me flipping spare!
