I did something similar in DC the other day. Who remembers a license plate number? When the meter is a block away from the car a made up plate will do.
I see FIVE “pr-” words! How many points do I get?
Whoops! All those p-words made my eyes temporarily cross.
But you get quadruple points!
I signed up to take part in Project Feeder Watch for the first time this year. It’s really easy, and the data visualization they give you is quite nice!
Within the past week a pair of great horned Owls have taken up residence in a nearby tree with direct line of sight of my feeder. Perhaps not residing, but they have certainly chosen to perch there.
Bird activity at the feeder has dropped to nearly zero. I could go though 20 pounds of feed in a busy week before.
Maybe they signed up for the feeder watch, too
Srsly, though, how cool! We’ve had a barred owl around very rarely (at least, only seen it very rarely) and they’re always such a treat to see.

Had to drive past two shopping malls on the way to my booster shot appointment last week. The delays were terrible, but seeing one of these while stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic made me LOL:
Panorama shot? But how?
It is very easy. I am pretty lazy, so Iuse a free Microsoft program called Image Composite Editor (that I am affraid was discontinued). But you can make it with Photoshop, Gimp and many other programs. People with a higher skill level than mine would tell you to use special techniques and free programs such as Hugin or Stitch Panorama.
The biggest problem is when I use ICE’s auto-complete function. It makes a nice mess, as I can’t fit the zenite (top) and nadir (ground) pictures of the panorama. If you notice, the center of the panorama is funny because the program used guess based on the average of the surrounding images to complete what was missing.
