And then “uh, actually, it’s really hard to explain magnetism, you need a PhD to really understand it.”
Explanations that require a specialized domain do not breed confidence – Occam’s razor and all that.
Doesn’t mean it’s wrong – Occam’s razor is not a law. And if the “simplest” explanation is also predicated upon woo, it doesn’t help much
