The old Soviet joke was that they had two newspapers, “Pravda” (‘Truth’) and “Izvestiya” (‘News’), and there was no news in The Truth, and no truth in The News.

Yeah. This is not an uncommon thing for internet companies to go through. Many of them run at a loss and with special “deals” with their providers based on their user numbers and the like. If people knew how many things on the internet they use that operate at a loss and have been forever, they’d be amazed.
