Wonderful thread. The music, whether it’s classical or contemporary or original Carl Stalling, is essential to any Warner Bros. cartoon. A few years ago I looked up the standard “factory/machine” music and found this.

Powerhouse is, possibly, the song everybody doesn’t know they know but they do most.

Raymond Scott just doesn’t get the mainstream recognition he deserves for his huge contributions to 20th C music.

Seems that between cartoons on Saturday mornings, and the Grateful Dead on Saturday nights, a lot of us got a pretty good grounding in Western musical traditions without even realizing it.
