I mean… it’s a baseball game. This is what you have to do to have fun. Otherwise you might as well watch paint dry.
I tease. I’ve been to a few games over the years, they’re always kind of fun, but yeah, can be a bit slow.
It starts, as such things often do, with significant amounts of alcohol being consumed.
I love how excited he is to say hi to friends and family. That’s some old-fashioned enthusiasm for being on broadcast TV that you don’t see as much in the post-YouTube age.
I’m sure all those cups will be recycled to make insulation for low-income housing or some other green effort.

As a Cubs fan…he’s not entirely wrong. Wrigley has almost always been a bar where a baseball game occasionally happens.

that’s a mets broadcast, and as we were watching that night all i could think of was that these cup snake people are handling cups covered in the backwash of hundreds of strangers. hugging that germ-ridden snake. for fun. still kind of queasy about it.
Much like golf is a nice walk interrupted by a little white ball, baseball is a nice drink with your buddies interrupted by a slightly larger ball.
