Personally, I was hoping that the infographic would itself be styled a la pubic hair.
Well, this is one subject Iâve never discussed (and with any luck WILL NEVER DISCUSS) with my university classmates.

Count me among the .07%. Iâm old, but I find this to be really depressing. I think itâs an effect of porn, which itself is depressing, artificial, and a twisted representation of the natural.
Au contraire, porn used to favor the furry look, with pubic hair being part of the forbidden. Now it favors depilation. Porn favors what people (well, mostly men) want to see. And just as modern advertising didnât invent depilation, neither did porn. (Not saying that porn doesnât have any effect on the popularization of pubic grooming styles, though.)
I like how the infographic designer just âwent for itâ.
Fuck any consistency in color choice or anything. We are going to make this random as shit and confusing.
Two things which perplex me are:
-
What trends of pubic hair removal have to do with âsexual medicineâ (as in Journal of Sexual Medicine)
-
How/why peopleâs opinions change based upon whether they happen to be wearing trousers or a dress.
-
Why there are no intersex/non-binary options.
- Why isnât there a braiding option?
Wellllll, yeah, okay, but two things.
First, pornography has been influencing sexuality since back when it was painted on cave walls. Pornography is a culture talking about sex with itself. You might think the discussion is filthy or evil or whatever, but itâs never not been there.
Second, ânaturalâ is one of those words, you know? When it doesnât conveniently mean âwhat I prefer,â it generally means something totally alien to how humans actually live their lives. Maybe youâre most attracted to humans who groom and bathe themselves according to pre-civilizational practices, but thatâd put you in a pretty small niche.
Proof that heavy advertising porn consumption from a young age shapes expectations in adulthood.
In the real world âshavenâ typically means âstubblyâ
On the contrary, I now think the thread would be lacking perspective without your post.
Thatâs true of shaving. Which I canât do, because it causes a rash. The best non-permanent option I have found is hard wax. It is a bit more of a chore than shaving, but stays smooth for much longer. And when the hair does grow back, it grows in slightly more fine.
Of course, you can still partake in rough sex, if you so choose. >;]P
So should I really explain about the heat rash on my thighs commonly encountered on the first few days after resuming shaving and/or using depilatory cream? (Iâve found that I can help that if I cover the affected area with an Ace bandage to prevent chafing.) Honestly, Iâm not sure if anyone wants to hear about that, but I can report that if you keep up the grooming, your skin gets used to it after a few days.
I love how itâs based on two schools. If you did a study where I went to school youâd find the country was 50% Irish Catholic and 49% Italian Catholic. And 1% Asian Catholic.
2.5 years of nursing school re-calibrated my set point for TMI. To date, I still havenât reached it.
Iâll give it a shot.
I groom my no-no region into a Freedom Hawk. I call it⌠Vyvian.
To give you an idea of my threshold for TMI: I can discuss candidly with my parents about aspects of their bowel movements* they deem worthy of sharing and then grab lunch.
*They initiate these conversations. I may have a high threshold for TMI but my curiosity remains that of a normal person.
