I get your point but the truth is that, even if really seldom, you do miss the easy path, you do fail the easy move.
A hiccup, wind, just a moment of disorientation.
The consequences if you are going to the bathroom are (usually) zero.
On a skyscraper? Different story.
Sort of like that “hypnogogic” jerk, the feeling of falling just as you are about to fall asleep - supposedly from the times we lived in trees and your really could fall.
