Instead of a waterbed, how about a sand bed?

Waiting for the day I can have a mattress made of each of the four classical elements: water, air, earth, and fire.

Plus you don’t have to get out of bed to go to the bathroom.

And you thought bedbugs were bad.

I think we can safely shut this thread down because nothing could be better than this.

Brings a new meaning to the old mafia slang “dirt nap.”

I wonder if this might cause problems with critters getting in the sand and getting comfy

From their site for just the mattress bag that holds the sand, the prices are:

$250 Cot Size
$300 Twin Size
$500 Queen Size
$600 King Size

Their directions say that you need the following amounts of sand:

Cot Size - holds 7 bags of 50lb sand
Twin Size - holds 9 bags of 50lb sand
Queen Size - holds 14 bags of 50lb sand
King Size - holds 18 bags of 50lb sand

So a king size bed would need 900lbs of sand. Definitely not for someone who plans on moving frequently.

Baby Sand Boa thinks this is a wonderful idea.

Yeah, I’d want to put that on a ground floor. I’m not sure I’d want a bed that weighs a half-tonne on an upper floor.

This. If you get a sand bed, you better like where you’re living, cause you ain’t moving. Ever.

Yeah, it seems like they could skip the sand and just sleep on the padding on top of the wood. If you’ve ever camped on beaches, sand is the worst surface. Rock is better.

I hate sand. It’s coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere.
