Boeing has done VERY little to deserve the benefit of the doubt when it comes to anything at this point, if you ask me. But you are correct in that for a scenario as complex as an airliner coming down (very statistically rare as we know), not much use in jumping to conclusions. But again — Boeing appears to have gone to absolute shit, and deserves nothing from the public at this point other than incredulity.
