I can’t be optimistic, man. Sorry.
WTF was Qasem Soleimani doing in Iraq anyway?
Foreign dignitaries from neighboring countries aren’t allowed in? Maybe the question we all should be asking as Americans and tax payers is why are our taxes going to kill foreign dignitaries in third countries, when they are neighbors and have an entirely legitimate right to be there?
Getting assassinated, apparently.
Ya think?
I could deal with not being talked down to, thanks.
Take it any way you like. The question is, what are you Americans going to do about it? You have a lot more agency in that regard than a Canadian like me. The rest of the world is waiting. For at least a century you’ve been telling the rest of us you’re the leader of the free world, the ‘city on the hill’ and all that yet 45% of Americans don’t bother to vote. Massive protests should have been happening already. Perhaps hanging out online slinging mud isn’t going to do it either. Enough is enough already. Peace.
Video originally from Democracy Now:
I am going to have to disagree that the leader of Quds_Force is just a “foreign dignitary”. They are professional, state sponsored shit stirrers and tied to terrorist attacks in Iraq and elsewhere,
Yes, it’s all my fault. Sorry… I personally killed ever single person who died in the Iraq war…
Interesting song choice. At 1:50 the song refers to the town of Karbala. Its situated on a natural choke point on the approach to Bagdad, and was where an Iraqi gas attack was expected to happen during the invasion in 2003. When the attack never materialized that was the point when most boots-on-ground commanders realized that the chemical weapons didnt exist.
He is. We don’t get to dictate what is considered a legitimate representative of other governments. doing so is pure imperialism.
As much as I’m put out by @il.luminator comment, he’s right in that we’re to blame for this as we’re a democracy. We need to wake the fuck up and DO something about it. Stop electing white supremacist shit bags for a start, maybe.
I assume that you would therefore be cool with a Lebanese airstrike on Langley?
Why the need to put words in my mouth? The U.S. in now the biggest threat to world peace and security in the entire world. At this point I think I have every right to ask each and every American citizen what they are actually DOING about it.
I still don’t think Trump wants an actual war, so “accidentally” in the sense that war most likely wasn’t what Trump intended, nor did he remotely understand the situation nor what would be the possible consequences of his actions (nor remotely understand what a war would actually entail). I mean, in that sense, most things he does, he does accidentally. He’s a chimpanzee pressing buttons.
I agree. My own personal bodily autonomy is at stake as a matter of fact. I am at risk of becoming a second class citizen where I have no rights to decide what happens inside of my body.
I advocate for better policies and vote for better politicians, and try to educate others on American and global history in my survey classes. Please tell me what else I can do to fix this problem. Because I’m really all out of ideas and full of fucking despair that we can ever move in a positive direction. What can I as an individual do that I have not already done to fix nearly 500 years of modern history?
Or rather people with more control picked him precisely because he seemed to be such.
I wonder if any of Ronnie RayGun’s stinger missile giveaways have found their way to the flight path of Air Force One.
Nope. The strike was ordered by Trumplethinskin directly.
Al Jazeera reporting both Obama and W. declined assassinating Soleimani when given the option, on account of the unintended consequences. Also that Soleimani was a national hero in Iran. Iran will see this as a declaration of war. And of course every attack like this plays into the hands of hardliners in the country, and hurts the cause of reformers there.
