This post seems to be throwing the terms ‘rap’ and ‘hip hop’ around as if they were interchangeable. It may even be that to many people these days they are, and though I may not like that situation, I’ll probably have to accept the everyday reality of it. But this post is nothing if not focussed on details, so I think it’s worth getting the terminology right.
…And if we’re going to talk about early rapping and comedy then surely Pigmeat Markham also gets a mention?
