On a similar note, I think that any reasonably Left-wing group that wants to see greater gun control in the US (not that all of them do) should first and foremost, arm themselves to the fucking teeth. Gun control legislation would quickly follow.
Maybe, just to make the point, they could inscribe quotes like “The Bourgeoisie produces, above all, its own grave-diggers”, “Law, morality, religion, are to him so many bourgeois prejudices, behind which lurk in ambush just as many bourgeois interests.” or “The worker who becomes a policeman in the service of the capitalist state, is a bourgeois cop.”
What many left-leaning people calling for more gun control fail to realize that historically gun control legislation has dis-proportionally affected poor minorities. Some laws were made to specifically target them, others just make it harder on them because the system is run by people who will scrutinize them more, and still others just affect the costs invovled. Other than maybe the AWB, nearly all proposed ideas I have seen would affect your “average middle class white male” the least, and poor minorities the most.
When I was younger, I lost someone close to me to a kid carrying his dad’s handgun. The kid had been discharged from a mental health facility hours before the shooting.
Ah yes…I have the exact opposite problem! The only downside of our dog is the high prey instinct: no small mammals are safe. (And by small, that includes full-sized deer.)
