I don’t fail to realise that gun laws enacted by reactionaries have served the purposes of the bourgeoisie. The fact is that this doesn’t have any bearing on whether the principle of firearms regulation is reasonable, in the same way that the final scene in Thelma & Louise is not particularly relevant to road safety legislation.
If Jeb really wanted to put his money where his mouth is, he’d take his new monogrammed peace ensurer to the next republican candidate debate, cap Trump and Cruz as they stood at their podiums and then address the crowd; “I am the ultimate Ruh-puh-bluh-kun candidate! It’s one thing to talk tough, but let me tell you, this is how we do things in Uh-muh-ruh-kuh!”
