Though maybe they shouldn’t. I saw something about how Epstein was the only one with the legal standing to oppose warrants in the investigation that also potentially encompasses a number of other, unnamed men who were part of his plea deal. So if the investigations continue, there’s nothing to stop them…
Apparently he wasn’t, anymore. Which also stinks, given his recent previous attempt.
Sadly, yes. I read about some 16 year old accused of stealing a backpack. He spent a year in jail before they dropped the charges…
I, too, am hoping for deadman’s info dumps; “if anything happens to me, this info gets released to the public.”
It’s mostly wishful thinking for sure, but given how everything else over the last 2.5 years has been straight out of a badly written comic book/soap opera, it’s also very possible.
In the light what I expect to happen, this could even be the favourable outcome. I’m not so optimistic.
There is nothing, nothing at all, which cannot be spinned and pitched to cover a more destructive angle. In this case: innocent until convicted, pushed into suicide by ‘liberal’ forces who want to prevent to be revealed by thorough investigation. Which, of course, would prove Epstein’s innocence.
To wild? Just remember the pizza corner child trafficking bullshit (which I refuse to honour by any semantic connection to investigative journalism by calling it “-gate”).
If we’re taking the conspiracy view of things (I sure am!), warrants might prevent the feds from gathering evidence in Epstein’s properties, but it probably hasn’t stopped the kind of people who can reach Epstein inside a federal prison. Probably they only killed him after they cleaned the properties and disarmed whatever deadman’s switch was in place. And of course the calculation could also be, “If Epstein’s legal team can’t keep this evidence under wraps, then he’s no good to us alive.”
I welcome them attaching themselves to a billionaire child molester - please.
That’ll work for 5% of the full mooners- and sink them with everyone else. There’s many many girls and women who’ll be telling their stories and going through the court. There was no one to speak from the nonexistent basement of the pizza shop.
Riddle me this - since Epstein is dead, could there be some information that can now be released to the public that may have been under wraps due to privacy concerns? I mean, I have no idea what that would be, but still.
Also, with a dead employers, would the minions give up more evidence? I mean, Epstein could have had a “You fuck me, I’ll fuck you.” sort of situation with these people. Now they could condemn others with out that fear (they are guilty of shit too, but I guess a plea deal to catch the bigger fish is how it goes.)
Official fixers like Barr often get purged early in the consolidation period of the authoritarian regimes they’ve supported. At that point rule of law and appearances of propriety are completely out the window, plus the regime’s criminals and thugs start worrying about his knowing where the bodies are buried and using that against them.
If Biff and co. are still in the White House in 2021, that’s when this toad will be looking down the barrel of (if he’s lucky) an induced heart attack. The public won’t miss him, but the public will have bigger problems at that point.
The most obvious explanation is that Epstein killed himself because he was looking at spending the rest of his life in jail as a child sex offender. This leads to a “let it happen” conspiracy theory, where someone arranged for him to not be on suicide watch, knowing he’d tried to kill himself before
And of course there are the theories about his death being faked
Actually, yes. Court calendars, especially for Federal Criminal Court can be quite large. Trial dates come after a lot of procedural wrangling/motion practice as well. It is far more typical than one would like to believe.
For perspective Civil cases in Federal Court easily take 2 years+ before a trial.
There is still the matter of his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell. The Feds were planning on throwing the book at her as well. At this point her defense could be a lot of “It was really Epstein”.
