Judge threatens to send Alina Habba to jail, then Trump walks out of court

Was he there when verdicts/judgments were announced? I doubt it. Coward.

The statement too bad so sad is the appropriate response but I ain’t joining his platform to play the sad trombone.

I attribute this tantrum to rank cowardice. I don’t think it was calculated at all. His entire existence is tied to the image he projects, and he couldn’t handle his ego being shredded in front of the jury. He is the very embodiment of a “snowflake.”

Fuck that!.
Demand gold bullion. And yank his passport.

Anyone thinking he was somehow coming out ahead from the “free publicity” this trial was generating might want to rethink that theory.

$83 Million is on par with what Universal Pictures spent on its worldwide marketing budget for Oppenheimer, and none of those ads even asserted that the filmmakers were sex predators.

Any truth to what I’ve read on the Xitters that if he wants to appeal he has to put up the full amount (in escrow?) for the process to move forward?

Yep. That’s pretty much what I’m hearing, or wait, that for various reasons, he can’t appeal. I haven’t heard that he’d have to put up that amount to do so.

seems like so ( via a quick google search. ) and, apparently, there are bond companies that you can hire to cover it so you don’t have to have liquid funds to do so.

I have a subscription so don’t know if all of you can read this but yes, he has to put up the money while he appeals.

Mr. Trump can pay the $83.3 million to the court, which will hold the money while the appeal is pending. This is what he did last year when a jury ordered him to pay Ms. Carroll $5.5 million in a related case.

“He’s the rare defendant with an $83 million verdict against him who actually has the money,” Mr. Green said. “Wherever this lands, she should be able to collect.”

He has enough cash to cover the verdict in various accounts, a person close to him said. In recent years, Mr. Trump has unloaded several assets, including his Washington hotel, which sold for $375 million.

So next time he does this, scale it the same and make it $1.2B?

Especially considering his documented history of overvaluing assets like the ones that he would have to put up as collateral. Might as well ask Mr. Bone Saw directly, because that is the kind of lender that would be interested.

How about close to $100 million. I don’t care how rich you are (or claim to be). That’s going to sting. I hope it was worth it.

Nope.

I have a feeling that he will drag this out for years as it’s put through appeals and delays, and Ms. Carroll will never see a dime from him. But I don’t know if the money was ever really the point. I certainly hope she gets what she’s owed from him before he finally croaks.

He will delay by continuing to defame her instigating more trials and larger judgments. Asshole.

If he wishes to appeal he has to put the money into an escrow account held by the court. He already did that with the 5.5 mil Carrol was awarded after the first trial.

He may or may not have some money.
