She said she doesn’t know who invented this. I believe it was Dame Edna Everage (Alias Barry Humphries). The Dame would bring out this kind of dish at the culmination of one of her comedy performances. I recall another involving corn-on-the-cob presented vertically with tomato halves on the top. I can’t imagine who suggested mayonnaise for the “candle-wax”. If anyone actually intended to eat the thing, surely double cream or yoghourt would suit better.
