Kamala Harris makes it official

You have consistently misread my posts.

At no point, have I suggested that the comments here have racial undertones. They do not.

Rather, I pointed out that within a day of announcing her candidacy Harris was attacked by rightwing birthers. I hoped to steer the discussion away from dancing (i.e. marketing strategy) towards policy.

Thank you for gently pointing out a spelling mistake I made in one of the three languages I speak. Learning English is so much more fun this way :flushed:

You’re comparing entirely legitimate criticism of KH to birthism. How is that not suggesting that we have racist undertones? You are consistently conflating things that neither I nor @knoxblox said about the dancing video to us. WE ARE talking about policy. You are saying that WE are not.

I can’t make that any clearer than I have.

One of the biggest long term risks, against Trump, is splitting the resistance against itself. And I have no idea what one does about that.

I don’t love Kamala Harris, not just for her past as an attorney general, but also because she hasn’t, to the best of my knowledge, addressed any of her past decisions. As a senator it seems like she’s been pretty okay?

Anyway, I don’t know what the solution to splitting the resistance is, but I don’t think it’s an automatic “any criticism of any Dem candidate must be suppressed”. Especially if you’re going to be a jerk about it.

fwiw, Lily Adams [ETA: The person Harris just hired as her comms director] was Clinton’s communications director specifically for Iowa. Jennifer Palmieri was her comms director for the campaign. I have no reason to believe Lily Adams was responsible for “Pokemon Go to the Polls” [ETA: so I don’t know that it’s fair to pin any unhipness on this one specific Harris staffer, as was implied in the comment to which I am replying]

Despite what you might think from the most vocal elements, the majority of Democratic voters are more moderate than progressive. But I certainly hope that every shade of blue can agree that a change is needed in the White House.

Now that we’ve gotten our aggressions out, I want to say this:

President Kamala Harris.

President.
Kamala.
Harris.

It has a nice ring.
