Here is a film directed by Frédéric Paschoud, for The Edouard & Maurice Sandoz Foundation in Pully, on the kinetic and sound work of the Swiss sculptor Etienne Krähenbühl.: BING BANG - Etienne Krähenbühl - YouTube
That is an industrial-strength wind chime.
Thank you so much for the the link to this film. Mezmerising! I wondered where to find it, and according to my search-fu, the artist installed “BING BANG 2010” in the gardens of Vullierens Castle, Switzerland, close to Lausanne. You can visit the gardens known for their sculptures and irises, and the sculpture is sounded every day on 14:30.
is that the very same bing bang that started out as a zine in the late eighties, is a two time winner of the bloggies, and styles itself as a directory of (mostly) wonderful things?
hmmm… maybe im thinking of someplace else
Len Lye would approve.
Now that is art. It sounds like nothing I’ve ever heard before, and it’s both visually and aurally beautiful.
but can I buy it and stash it at the Geneva Free Port
Interesting sculpture, but oof, that description. More full of itself than the sculpture is full of sound.
