I think the other cows may be Red Angus, which aren’t small cows either, but in this case I think this herd is made up of adolescent cows at best because a typical Red Angus stands about 5 foot.
Well, there’s knackers(who dispose of dead animals), and then there are knackers(slang for testicles). All this knacker talk reminds me of the old BBC “All Creatures Great and Small” TV series. Good fun.

Looking at the muscle development of the dark cattle, they are yearlings, not adults.
But the breed is important. If they had surrounded him with Kerry (under 4 ft at the shoulder) he would appear even larger.
