As I was thanking the farmer for his help, he says “You know, you must not be a very good pilot.”, I ask why, and he says “Didn’t you see my duster strip on the other side of the field?”

As a middle aged Black woman, I can tell you from experience; don’t bet on that.

Oh, I don’t, but I moved to Oakland 25 years ago, as I was tired of getting harassed and the occasional gun pulled on me elsewhere in the Bay Area. I lived in Marin for a few years (same time as the above landing), now that was a hellish experience.
