Except that he won’t do that. He’s already blaming Biden’s supposed immigration policies for allowing the virus into the US.
He’ll deflect any other forms of blame that he himself obviously deserves, with lies his voters will lap up like gravy.
And he wouldn’t need a majority, of course, a truth that’s getting more and more true as 2024 approaches.

Sort of, but in a more or less inverse way, no? There’s going to be plenty of Republican voters still alive in 2024-- the vast majority of those alive today, not a scant few ones. And if he does run (which seems likely),I don’t think they’ll blame higher rates of Covid deaths in FL on DeSantis any more than they did the highest natonal Civd death percentages on Tromp. Everything bad is pretty much always the fault of someone other than their dear Republican leaders
I think DeSantis has a great chance of winning the Republican nomination. But then, a helluva lot can happen in the length of time before we get there.
