Worth noting here that the 6 weeks is not 6 weeks from conception, but 6 weeks from the woman’s last period. This is when they are just realizing they are late. Some OTC pregnancy tests are not even reliable this early on. Between SB1 and this shitshow, TX is rapidly approaching peak fascism.

IANAL, but a casual reading seems to indicate that anyone assisting in obtaining abortions can be targeted, up to and including those who contribute to Planned Parenthood or other pro-choice groups. And even if the lawsuit fails, the target is still stuck with legal bills. This sets up limitless SLAPP suits funded by conservative assholes to drive anyone lobbying for the rights of women out of the state. As it is designed. The State can claim innocence because they are not involved in the “enforcement” of the law. I hate this strategy sooo much.
