Yes. In the stupidest manner possible, too. They literally just believe that Black voters will just flock to ANY Black politicianโฆ they are trying this shit in the Senate race by backing Hershel Walker. People voted for Sen. Warnock because he ran a great campaign and had actual policies to offer voters. On the whole, Iโd argue that many Black voters (especially here in GA) are more well-informed than their white counterparts. But they are so racist, they just assume that the only thing Black voters care about is skin color. Once again, pure projection on their part.
Yes, Iโm sure itโs Democrats who are out of touch. They need to put โLetโs Go Brandonโ stickers on their cars and start rolling coal, or they are out of touch with rural voters.
Stacey Abrams and her every county approach to her 2018 campaign would like a wordโฆ
"I think people in general have gotten more tribal," she said. "The willingness for Democrats to vote for Republicans is diminished and vice versa.I really wish people who said this would acknowledge it's not just some failure to come together that has started happening, it's the natural and even desirable outcome of the Republican party falling off the fascist end of the political spectrum.
Also really frustrating to see an article about Democrats having trouble, and not mentioning that voter suppression and rigging of elections are really the main reasons.
Ah. I was wondering why West would steal votes from Democrats when he was pretty clearly enamored with Trump. The answer he wouldnโt, but racists assumed he would makes a lot of sense.
In most of Indiana, voting is done on machines with no paper receipt whatsoever, not even a chit to take with you or something to bring the voting officials to put through a slot into a locked box. You have to trust that what you typed in was recorded, and correctly. There is also no way to confirm afterward that the state registers the fact that you DID vote.
So who knows how people are really voting in a rural state like that? We only know what the officials tell us, before voting has even closed for the day (and thus before thereโs even the slightest chance that theyโve manually gone through the mail-in ballots).
Many racists firmly believe that the people they are racist towards are just the mirror version of themselvesโฆ and they themselves will often vote in part based on race. In addition to being racist, they lack any real ability to think through the world in an empathetic manner and just assume everyone else is just like they areโฆ
We just moved away from those sorts of machines to ones that are digital, but that print out your choices with a barcode to feed into a machine that counts your ballot. I much prefer it to those machines. I can check on the machine, then check my print out before I put it into the machine.
yeah. thereโs no way thatโs secure. everything should come down to paper always. even a receipt really isnโt enough because the software can just print one thing and record another
i remember you posting about those before. and they seem like theyโve got the benefits of electronic voting machines - accessibility in different languages and accounting for differences in peopleโs vision - while still being paper in the end, and verifiable by the voter
i hope the dems voting rights bills actually move forward. it might be too little too late already, but any move towards fairness and accountability in voting will help
not sure the right place to put this โ
but fox โnewsโ contracts with cable companies are expiring at the end of the yearโฆ
the fees from cable subscribers is their primary profit center right now โ not advertisement.
Fox News makes approximately $1.8 billion per year from hidden subscriber feesโtwice as much as CNN and three times as much as MSNBC
could be a prime time ( ouch ) to kick them where it hurts by getting people to get the cable companies to move fox to an optional channel, or to charge fox more for the privilege of being on the air.
( eta: itโs estimated that each person paying for cable pays between $20-30 dollars a year to keep fox on the air right now. regardless of whether you ever watch it. )

Carlson advised the mostly Gen Z and Millennial crowd to โrun awayโ from big cities, as he did when he sold his Washington, D.C., home for $3.95 million in July of 2020 to purchase a $2.9 million property in Boca Grande, a small community on Gasparilla Island in southwest Florida. โWhat sane person would choose to live in a $30 million 16th floor apartment in a crowded city over a log cabin in a pine forest with the wood stove glowing as the snow falls?โ he asked.
โFight back a little bit by trying to turn down the noise just for like a half hour a day,โ he continued. โItโs almost like a religious exercise. I take a sauna every day and sit alone in a hot wood room and just try and listen. Mostly I hear nothing other than the buzz of the sauna heater.โ
For a party that touts so much anti-elitism, I donโt think Carlson understood the assignment.
I wonโt believe him until he takes part in one of these
well, except that when the right uses โanti-elitismโ what they mean is Democrats and people on the leftโฆ they are fine with elites as long as they are right wing, white, cis-gendered, straight, and Evangelical Christian.
Carlson is like gwenyth paltrow for nazis. Like a 150 dollar โDeez nutsโ candle.
โSmithers! Fetch some more wood for the wood stove!โ
I really picture poor Tucker straining a muscle picking up a log for the fire, then curling up in the fetal position, crying because he got a splinter.
โMy weird personal life, which is totally not weird.โ
those people arenโt elites theyโre just successful. /s
( where successful, of course, means born wealthy enough to hire someone to tug up on your bootstraps )
They โthoughtโ fucking wrong.
Wrong with โYe;โ WRONG AS FUCK with Larry Elders.
