Oh fuck yeah. I’d say, as a demographic, Black voters (across economic class) tend to be more well-informed on the issues and on candidates compared to your average white voter. Black women are especially engaged in the political process, because it was them, their mothers, and grandmothers who did so much of the work of ending Jim Crow in the first place. The fact that the GOP just doesn’t understand that reality just shows you that they are really blinkered to the experiences of anyone who is not themselves.

When I was young, I didn’t pay a lot of attention to politics, though I’ve voted in every presidential election held since I turned 18.
These days, I vote in every fucking election, no matter how local or “unimportant.”

I think I am going to try and be more involved in the party at the county level here in the next couple of years. I think that’s going to be necessary to keep pulling the Democratic party back to the left.

True, if it delays anything at all. This lawsuit isn’t going to get far. Even a trump-appointee won’t grant an injunction, even temporary, against a state AG doing their job. The NYAG will assign a an attorney in her office to handle this, or hire someone. Meanwhile, her investigation continues and she smells blood in the water.
