i don’t have any links but i think the texas gop was the first to introduce software into redistricting back around the 2000s. rove and tom delay maybe

i had to look, but i guess it was 2019 that the supreme court decided extreme gerrymandering was completely constitutional :confused:

i think it’d be better for the dems to try to setup fair, repeatable rules. then they can point to that as the norm both to the public and in court cases. ca and az both have independent commissions which seems? to work pretty well

the problem of course is that in states where they hold the power, they’re not interested in accidentally erasing their own district
