Speaking of angerβ¦
It time to let this thread whimper to its inevitable close.
We can reopen it for his obituary.
That will be a glorious day for all to relieve themselves on his grave.
Donnie must be so proud
Guess when push comes to shove the βLiberty or Deathβ crowd actually has an option C: Decide not enough liberty is at stake worth getting shot over.
Wow. I spent the last almost eight years caring for my Mom, she passed away at the end of September. Your description hits home and fits exactly with how Iβve been feeling lately.
Thanks for putting it out there like that. It helps a bit.
Hey, guess what? I didnβt feel mentally assaulted today, as in beaten about the head and shoulders with Trump nonsense! What a fantastic, boring day full of work and occasional glancing at Bidenβs first strides to assist with the pandemic. HOLY CRAP, what alternate universe is THIS? Oh wait, this is the REAL universe, not the alternate one I was living in for the last 4 years. The Enterprise has crossed back through the anti-Trek time/space continuum and back to normal times. Itβs so boring now. I like it.
Oh, it turns out Fauciβs response about βnot knowing the answerβ is much better than I thought when played in full context. It was a response to Doocyβs boy trying to pull fast one
Fauciβs really having a good time at the lectern today.
The Federalist Society, thatβs going to burn.
But when? Mitch is playing hardball to keep the filibusterβ¦
I donβt understand why anyone is listening to the minority leader all of a sudden. Minority leader in the Senate had zero voice in the past 4 years. Why would that change?
Tic tok tee timeβ¦
Here is a good breakdown to why:
"The Senate is operating on the organizing resolution from the last Congress, when the GOP was in the majority. Because of that, for instance, confirmation hearings for President Joe Bidenβs Cabinet picks this week are being chaired by Republicans.
Bottom line: The fight over the organizing resolution, which appeared to be a temporary disagreement on Wednesday, has reared its head as a full-out legislative crisis that could threaten to stall committee business, cast a shadow over talks about when to start the impeachment trial and constrain the first days of Chuck Schumerβs role as majority leader.
Put simply, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is making a play to exert as much power over the Senate in his new role as possible and Schumer is going to have to make some impossible choices about how to go forward." -CNN
Mitch is an evil person.
If the goal is to stop any bill or proposition from moving forward, the minority has a significant voice. If the goal is to actually govern, the minority is pretty much helpless. Since the Republicans generally only want to stop things from happening, majority/minority is not much of a difference.
Ugh, doesnβt he know this will only re-amplify Trumpβs presence, and build sympathy and/or hero worship for him? Stop helping, Iran, all you are doing is derailing his impeachment.
