Does this mean the Atlanta metro area can vote itself to be an independent state? /s

while economics isn’t everything, oregon might do better financially without those particular counties.

i dunno. maybe they’re hoping idaho will give them bigger government handouts since they don’t seem to be bootstrapping themselves to success. (/s)

Cir-Q-lar firing squads.

Additionally, some Trump supporters have accused Maricopa County elections official of shredding Trump ballots, feeding them to chickens, and then having the chickens incinerated to cover up the evidence.

Bro, I’ve got some bad news for you about what happened to Socrates…

This is one of those moments where I have that terrible feeling of really wanting to make fun of someone, and can’t find anything anywhere close to as good for that as what they already said.

I guess he is now claiming he was being ironic, because of course the conservative definition of irony is β€œsaying something that was poorly received”.

Specifically he’s claiming he was employing Socratic irony, which is when someone pretends to be ignorant to expose the ignorance or inconsistency of someone else. For example, when your parents ask β€œhow did your study group go when we were out of town for the weekend?” even though they know damn well you had a house party and are just asking the question so they can call you out on a lie.

And of course that doesn’t apply in this case because the thousands of people who mocked Sabatini for his dumbass tweet were truthful and accurate in pointing out that Socrates was indeed β€œcancelled” by his own government.

The saddest part is that this jackass apparently has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy.

Huh, that didn’t occur to me. I honestly assumed that at this point he must mean irony involving Socrates, because that’s the closest to making sense.

This is the kind of thing that used to topple administrations and end promising careers in a prison cell.

Now, it’s a footnote.

But but but… young people are fleeing New York and California because those states are extremely liberal…

How far did they drop him?

He was even on CNN a couple weeks back trying to defend his remarks as β€œbeing taken out of context”, blah blah. I guess he wasn’t convincing enough for the brass.

Article had more about this, and more here:

Usually Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon have a lovey bro fest during the hand off between their two shows, but Lemon was really pissed at Cuomo that night and it showed.

But, anyway, I think we can all agree on β€œfuck Rick Santorum”. I’m perfectly happy to never see him on CNN again as the token right wing talking head.

That has been going on for a long time. I fled in 1996, not because of the politics but because the economy has been shit for decades, and anyone with an education has to leave to find work. Hence a population of (largely) older, more poorly educated, angrier and more desperate people who latched on to Trump specifically because he is a strongman leader who feeds their fears and ignorance. WV is a beautiful state, with truly lovely people who right now are terrified of a future they fear has no place for them. I feel for them, but I can’t be one of them.

I’m 100% sure that if they had advised that it was just fine to kiss and snuggle chickens then Tucker would spend the next several weeks screaming that the CDC was trying to normalize chicken-fuckers.

Periodic reminder that just because Liz Cheney chose not to personally repeat Trump’s election lies doesn’t mean she will actually oppose any the policies instituted in the name of those lies.
