People might get hurt and even killed, and we do need to stay alert, but I doubt a gaggle of Meal Team Sixes will ever be able to muster enough organized force to provoke anything that amounts to a β€œcivil war.”

Hey look, authoritarian nations made it clear who they want to win in a few weeks.

right? i wonder who they might be supporting?

No, not in the sense of a frontline battle between two opposing forces. Warfare is just different now, and is no longer going to look like it did in the 20th century. They are certainly more than capable of pulling off acts of random violence that fundamentally disrupt society in order to get what they want. It’ll be more like Syria or the Troubles, or the wars in Yugoslavia - none of thosee really depended on traditional tactics that needed fit, young men to pull off. And of course, there are some fit young people who do support the fascist cause and will go to war in favor of it.

Fingers crossed for somehow chasing fascism instead back under the rocks that it mostly used to hide under.

That is the crux of the problem isn’t it? They don’t just β€œgo away”… but I think we can certainly do better than we did in the wake of the OKC bombing, which was to treat it as a β€œlone wolf” problem rather than a systemic problem. We’ll keep having this issue as long as white people don’t work on decolonizing our mindset and working towards an actual interracial democracy based on equity and democratic values. Until that happens, it will continue to be a game of whack-a-fascist…

Willis claims this payment arrangement prevents her prosecutors from reaching plea agreements with lower-level participants to get to the top people involved.

Seems like the plan.

and, or the houseless.

i think people perceive crime to be higher when they see people living on the streets. the currently proposed solution seems to be locking them up into prisons or shelters that act like prisons, and anyone who isn’t signing up to drive the trucks is being too soft

discomfort is a crime for many of a certain mindset whether liberal or conservative

I’m not one to wallow in another’s self-destruction. But this nasty piece of work deserves everything he gets, and more.
