Could Plautus’s comedies be made today? Or is everyone too woke to laugh at all the slavery and prostitution and the jokes written entirely in early Latin?

Just like today’s comedies couldn’t be made in 1955. It’s kinda a silly and irrelevant thought exercise, often made by people who actually live in the past; who know in their hearts that their best work is done and they will never match it again.

Makes sense to me. Martians would be opposed to humans having non-procreative sex, and in general any activities other than breeding and fattening up, because they want to eat us. I’d say it’s surprising Shapiro (and Herschel Walker?) would be a quisling for them…but it’s really not.
