Same as it ever was. The same thing is happening here under Abbott in Texas and all he has done is try to find excuses to throw trans children into these “homes” where they can be exploited and abused. And people still voted for him… it really makes me sick to my stomach if I think about it because I really believe it means he knows and he wants that to happen to these kids.

The “Bundyville” podcast from Oregon Public Broadcasting was a great deep-dive into the Bundy family and their followers that provides some context for why everyone is scared to do anything about those freaks even when they openly thumb their noses at Federal, state and local governments.
Scary, prelude-to-full-scale-civil-war kind of stuff.
